About me

New York based artist

My work investigates intimate and universal points of view, exploring the camera intervention, how people relate to what is being viewed, and individual responses to his or her own image. I see the moving image as a way to discover the potential of visual language, uniting the traditions of documentary, narrative, experimental, still images, and footage appropriation. My recent inspirations are often rooted in my experience as an immigrant, the distance from my homeland and my relationship with my new place.

Born and raised in São Paulo, I am now based in New York. I have a BA in Film Studies from Fundação Armando Alvarez Penteado (São Paulo, Brazil), and received and MFA in Photography, Video, and Related Media from the School of Visual Arts (New York) in 2011.

I live in the Lower East Side, along with my husband, a professor of economics, my toddler daughter, and two daschund like dogs.
